More Demonstrations on Nakba Day

More actions were reported for the 78th Anniversary of Nakba Day. We hereby share some of them:
Partizan Greece reported on a march in Athens against Nakba Day. Thousands of people gathered in the streets and marched towards the Israeli embassy. During the marched it was denounced the new law to execute Palestinian political prisoners.
In Quezon City, Philippines, a rally was held, led by the Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association (PPFA). Participants carried Palestinian flags, and placards read “Salam Palestine Solidarity from the Philippines.” An effigy of Netanyahu was also burned and kicked. The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) supported the event and denounced the “Yellow Line” that Israel uses to annex even more Palestinian territory. At the end, a speech was read denouncing US imperialism and calling on progressive sectors in the Philippines to put an end to it.

In Norway, a demonstration took place in Bergen, where 200 people participated, including Kampkomiteen. Banners from the Anti-imperialist League were observed during the demonstration.

In Oslo 100 people and several organizations marched towards the Grønlands Torg, and afterwards towards the Israeli embassy, were a text called “Nakba never ended” was red. During the whole demonstration the police was heavily present with several cars. Slogans such as “Yallah yallah intifada!”, “Death death to the IDF!”, “1-2-3-4 occupation no more! 5-6-7-8 we don’t want your two states!”, “Free Palestine!”, “Down with Israel!” and “From the river to the sea!” were shouted throughout the demonstration.


In Germany, Red League participated in the Nakba Day demonstration in Hamburg. During the demonstration, a young man was forcibly removed and arrested by the police. Activists responded by defending the protest and demanding his release. The slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will prevail” was chanted loudly, while some participants symbolically burned an Israeli flag, which drew support and cheers from the crowd. The march, which began at the Landungsbrücken and ended near Dammtor, also served to promote the creation of the International Anti-Imperialist League and distribute the special edition of Rote Post dedicated to this historic day

In Thessaloniki, Greece, a march took place on May 16. Members of the Palestinian community as well as the Communist Party of Greece (Marxist-Leninist) [KKE (m-l)] participated. During the demonstration, there was a stop in front of the Yankee embassy to denounce the ongoing genocide, as well as the new law which allows the execution of the Palestinian political prisoners by the State of Israel.


In the United Kingdom, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets of London on May 15. The protesters were surrounded by more than 4,000 police officers equipped with special technology such as facial recognition, helicopters, drones, police dogs, horses, armored vehicles, and dedicated investigative teams. The protests resulted in 12 arrests.

In Brussels, Belgium, a march was also held, with thousands of people participating.
In Madrid, Spanish State thousands of people marched to mark the 78th anniversary of the Nakba.
