Russia – Report on the 40th Anniversary of the Day of Heroism
We hereby share a report that we received per e-mail.
On June 19, marking the 40th anniversary of the heroic struggle waged by militants, fighters, and representatives of the masses under the leadership of the Communist Party of Peru, Russian communists honor the memory of those killed by the criminal old Peruvian state in the El Frontón, Lurigancho, and Callao prisons. The historic example set by these brave and courageous martyrs—who fought back against their executioners—illuminates our path and calls us to struggle today.
Across the globe, old states—both imperialist and those subservient to imperialism—imprison, torture, and subject to extrajudicial execution revolutionaries, prisoners of war, national liberation fighters, and democratic activists. This occurs in the prisons of India, the Philippines, Turkey, and Peru, where old states attempt to break the heroic participants of people’s wars led by Maoist parties. It happens in Israeli prisons. It happens in Russian prisons, too. Russian imperialism has imprisoned thousands of Russians. It has also incarcerated many members of the oppressed Ukrainian nation in occupied territories. Prisons are actively used by the criminal, genocidal, fascist state as sites for the murder of political prisoners and for ceaseless torture.
Today we declare:
Long live the PCP!
Long live the Day of Heroism!
Eternal glory to the heroes of the revolution!
Long live the people’s war and the world revolution!
Freedom to all revolutionary prisoners and revolutionary prisoners of war!
