Since our last report, the people of France have continued to take the streets, calling for their just demands – despite the State’s continued escalation of repression and reactionary measures. Big protests are also expected for the third Saturday in a row, with multiple calls being made to once again take to the streets. We share below some reports on actions.
You can read our last report here:
The International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) Section France carried out an agitation action in 10 cities of France, where graffiti was painted, banners were hung and posters were put up in support of the high-school protests and of the ones facing the repression of the State, as well as against Yankee imperialist intervention in Latin America, in solidarity with the continental campaign of the AIL. Slogans were also painted calling for the freedom of Palestinian and Lebanese political prisoners.
Jeunesse Communiste (JC) have reported on an anti-repression support evening that was carried out in Nantes, and shared some pictures from the event on its Instagram account.
On October 30, more than 30 inmates of the Grenoble-Varces prison in Isere rose up against the degrading conditions of the prison, with videos surfacing of mold covered showers, peeling paint and damaged walls. The inmates refused to go back to their cells from the yard, defying the orders of the prison guards. The Regional Intervention and Security Team (ERIS) was sent to attack the just protest of the inmates.
JC also has shared a video report from the demonstrations on October 24 in Clermont-Ferrand. Here JC also calls to take to the streets once again on October 31, writing “The struggle is not over! See you on October 31!”
