More actions against the CIIT in Mexico and around the world

A report on the Day of Struggle for Justice, Land and Freedom called by Frente de Organizaciones Oaxaqueñas (FORO) has been published on the website Sol Rojo Mexico. It is reported that around three thousand people attended the march, carrying flags of the various flags of the organisations that make up FORO, with the red flags of Current of the People – Red Sun standing out strongly. On the early morning of the 20th of March contingents arrived at the Viguera crossing. Activists had already blocked the main entrance to the city of Oaxaca at 9 am. At 11 am the mobilization started its march and advanced without major incidents to the central square at 3 pm. A rally was held, with speeches from multiple organizations took a position in defending the land, denouncing the imperialist mega-projects that represent evictions and death to the masses on the countryside. Here the occupation of the square was declared and the activists began to set up tents. In the evening a political-cultural event was held. Among other presentations, revolutionary youth made speeches in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinians.

The report explains that this mobilization was very important, as it takes place in the framework of a process of the state becoming more reactionary, with increasing harassment and violence against the people, and a growing threat of Yankee military intervention, with the state accepting their subjugation to Yankee imperialism, which is displayed in the visit of the US delegation on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.

The FORO had set the following central goals for the mobilization:

First. – Strengthen the process of general unity of the movement based on the principle of Unity in Action, second. – place in the center the demands for justice and the rights of the people before the state governments and federal (both of [the party of Lopez Obrador] Morena), third. – reject the militarization of Isthmus and the imposition of mega-projects of dispossession and death such as the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) and fourth. – follow growing the strength of the FOROas a space for expression for the anti-capitalist, anti-electoral and anti-patriarchal struggle, according to the Political Declaration of January 13, 2023.”

According to the report, the mobilization was considered a success, with the FORO being able to prepare mobilizations, which enable the continuing improving the quality of the unity and class struggle in defense of land and the rights of the people. Again it was noted that the militants of Current of the People – Sol Rojo are ready to keep up the democratic-revolutionary struggle and to build unity that is necessary for the new democratic revolution in Mexico.

More actions in support of the struggle of the Mexican people against the CIIT have been made around the world.

Activists of democratic-revolutionary organizations organized a rally in front of the Mexican consulate in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the popular and democratic Brazilian newspaper A Nova Democracia reports. Holding banners with the slogans ”The Interoceanic Corridor plunders and kills poor peasants and indigenous people in Mexico!
