In Memory of Özgür and Asmin…

October has come and gone. The month of October does not only bring us the cold, but every

October we experience the joy of the wind reflected in the waving of the flag we inherited from Asmin and Özgür. Warriors Özgür and Asmin, commanders who joined the caravan of immortals by having the will to fight in the front positions of the class struggle, are the sources of inspiration for our enthusiasm. On the one hand, they fought under the intense blockade and destructive attacks of the enemy, and on the other hand, under the dark attacks of liquidationism.

The fear they created when they were massacred by intense aerial bombardment did not end with

their heads being cut off from their bodies. Because there was fear in the eyes and faces of the enemies when bodies were handed over to their families. They thought that their consciousness would disappear. But their consciousness was located in the people’s side of the class struggle and formed a single will.

Now this will must be explained.

Where to start, how to explain, what to write? Memories about them are not ordinary. When we write,

we describe their consciousness and their practices guided by this consciousness. Every moment

of their lives is shaped by revolutionary practice, and their passion flow from my pen. Now, once

again, what we have learned from them, what they have done and what they have left behind, we

vow to honor it. The pain of their untimely departure continues and will always continue. Some

immortalities are like this. Our revolution is witness to such deaths. Just like what was witness with

comrades Şerzan, Nubar, Rosa, Muharrem and Deniz. There are traces of them on the trails and in

the headquarters, indelible traces.

There is much to learn from their struggles. The first thing that comes to mind is the practice and

spirit of responsibility. The revolution needs this a lot. While the attacks against the people

continue intensely, it is very important to look for what the enemy is missing, to implement it, to

complete what is missing, to strengthen the weak, while the enemy is directed against the patriots.

Revolution is a complicated action of the popular masses. In this action, due to the attacks against the people, holding responsible is the will to develop the war. The spirit of responsibility is also an

important part of being a real power, in order to establish a relationship of power and trust.

The practice of immortal comrades provides us with ample lessons. Each of them contains

powerful experiences to learn what to do and how to behave. Özgür and Asmin are the will to take

action at points where we fail, to do what we need to do…

Battlefields always requires for such will, as it requires today. There are examples of the spirit of

responsibility reflected in practice of their revolutionary lives, and these examples are practices that

we need to make grow in ourselves and in our own revolutionism today.

Difficult processes, intense attacks, nothing changes in fascism. As for us, there are points that we

are missing, that we need to complete, that we need to focus on, that we need to strengthen.

Comrades Asmin and Özgür were subjects who took part in practice with the spirit of responsibility of

the side in which they lived and with they fought. It was their theoretical-practical positioning that was

shaped according to the line that made them subjects, and that bring them to the forefront in order

to make every practice required by this line to come to life. What made them militants of the process was not their mere actions, but their will shaped according to the line that guided these actions. At this

point, it is very important to learn from them and make their practice our own. As the enemy attacks

increase, it is important to shake off and respond to the attacks.

Responsibility requires a militant spirit. The militant spirit is the will to be shaped according to the line, in theory and practice. Embrace these features that stand out in the persons of comrades Özgür and Asmin is the most important aspect of commemorating them.
