Brasil: the peasantry resists big landlord terror in western Paraná
It has been reported that on August 28, in Tekoha Y’Hovy, in the municipality of Guaraíra, peasants were brutally attacked by big landlords and armed gunmen, leaving at least four Avá-Guarani indigenous people injured, two of them in serious condition.
The attacks began around 11 pm on the 27th and continued throughout the night. The gunmen, acting on the orders of the big landlords, shot at least four people
Videos show numerous pickup trucks, crackling sounds are heard. In the footage, you can hear the firm response of the Avá-Guarani:
“If they shoot, let them shoot! If we have to die for the land, we will die but only once!” “We will shed our blood again for this land! IT IS OUR LAND!”
The National Force of the government was sent to “monitor and prevent violence” showed once more its complicity in the crimes committed by the latifundium.
