AND: Editorial – The armed struggle of the Palestinian people cannot be defeated

We publish an unofficial translation of the article by A Nova Democracia

The death in combat of Yahya Sinwar, head of the Hamas Political Bureau, on the front line of the war of resistance against the invader in the south of the Gaza Strip, will not put an end to, nor disturb the continuity of the revolutionary armed struggle for the liberation of Palestine. Hamas itself says it: “The martyrdom of our brother and leader will only strengthen Hamas and our Resistance, making us more determined and firm in following his path, honoring his blood and sacrifice.”

Sinwar’s life has as striking feature the fact that it was always linked to the armed struggle for national liberation. He never renounced to this, despite having spent 20 years in Zionist torture centers (recognized by the imperialist “international community” as “prisons”). He was released, in 2011, not due to the clemency of the Zionist beast nor due to “advances in peace negotiations”: he was released due to the armed struggle, in the prisoner exchange, in which he was exchanged for Zionists captured by the Resistance. Since 2017, Sinwar fulfilled his mission as head of Gaza, until assuming, in August, the responsibility of head of the Political Bureau, with the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran. He was one of those responsible for the masterful operation Flood of Al-Aqsa.

Sinwar is an expression of the incandescent steel that Palestinian combatants and guerrillas are: from the top leader of the Resistance to the guerrilla in his first days of struggle, everyone was born, educated and forged in the armed struggle. In the Gaza Strip, which is today a stronghold of heroes and heroines, everything is based on the national cause and everything is born around the armed struggle for national liberation. Palestine is progressive mankind united in a cause, in a war of liberation. Sinwar is, today, a hero of this mankind.

Media monopoly “analysts” and pro-imperialist semi-intellectuals are all disappointed – a reflection of the inevitable frustration of the Zionist establishment itself and Yankee imperialism. As swordsmen payed by Zionist intelligence services, everyone made lofty predictions that, by eliminating Sinwar, conditions would be created for the end of the armed Resistance. Harel Chorev, a senior researcher at Tel Aviv University, predicted that Sinwar’s death would be a “fatal blow” because he exercised centralized direction over Hamas. This is stupidity, characteristic of those who analyze the phenomena of the cabinet: the multifaceted guerrilla actions of the Resistance would be impossible if Sinwar exercised a tactical centralization of all the singular operations of the Resistance, so that they will not be affected and, therefore, the situation of the Zionists troops on the ground will not become easier. And, in any case, the political centralization that they attribute to Sinwar, fundamental to the success of the political plans of the Palestinian cause, does not mean in any way that the organization was not prepared to continue in his absence – like the history of Palestinian organizations and of so many others in the armed struggle proves, the combat elimination of the top leader is not, at all, new, and the existence of an emergency plan is imperative.

The “analyses” of the press monopolies are nothing more than a mere projection of wishes: in reality, the physical elimination of Sinwar, being a significant loss for the Resistance, will not cause any change of direction or defeat. Even with a prolonged course and the possibility of temporary losses, Israel is doomed to defeat, and the Palestinian people will inevitably triumph.

Yahya Sinwar lives! Palestine will triumph!
