Mexico: Weekly Newsletter

We hereby publish an unofficial translation of the part on Mexico from the latest Weekly Newsletter by Sol Rojo Mx:

It has been one year since the passing of Irma Soledad Sorroza Moguel, comrade Seimy, who passed away on the night of December 23, 2023 at her home, north of Oaxaca City. Our comrade was an active militant of the People’s Youth Brigades (BJP) and the Serpiente Collective, whose main work was the activities of support and dissemination of the Palestinian cause demanding the release of prisoners, the return of the remains of the martyrs of the Resistance, and of course, internationalist solidarity for the end of the occupation and the triumph of national liberation. Comrade Seimy died very young, just 19 years-old, but during her militant career she was a clear, brilliant and combative woman who loved to sing Joven Guardia and admired the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine as the most democratic organization within the National Resistance. Comrade Seimy was one of the best daughters of the working class, born and raised in its bosom, forged in its struggles and fused to its historical tasks. Comrade Seimy, lives in the heart and struggles of the people! Other news: on December 26th, our democratic organization will celebrate 17 years of political life and 8 years of public life, and as every year the SolRojistas will celebrate as it should be in the middle of a political-cultural event bringing together comrades from different geographies and organizations. In this end-of-year event there will be discussions and cultural contributions that will help to continue rooting the identity and mystique of our militancy under the slogan ¡SolRojista sí señor, de lo bueno lo mejor! (Solrojista, yes sir, from the good the best!) Long live the 17/8 anniversary of our democratic organization!
