We hereby publish an unofficial translation of the latest weekly newsletter by Sol Rojo:
On December 26, the Current of the People – Red Sun held a political-cultural event to commemorate its 17/8 anniversary and the 131st birthday of Chairman Mao Tse-tung. The event was successfully held in the auditorium of Section 75 of the Telephone Workers’ Union of the Mexican Republic, and was attended by fellow union members from various unions such as the Oaxaca Section of the SNLTSS, Section 75 of the STRM, COCLATE and organizations such as the League of Communities for the Agrarian Revolution, the People’s Youth Brigades, the People’s Student Movement and the People’s Women’s Movement, in addition to solidarity organizations such as the Committee for the Defense of the Rights of the People of Oaxaca (CODEPO) and the June 14 Popular Front who attended as fraternal guests giving their greetings to the event. We will soon publish a report on the activities.
The event highlighted the emergence of the Anti-imperialist League, calling on the organizations present to learn about its program and declaration of principles. During the closing of the event, the Current of the People – Red Sun mentioned that its II. Political Congress will be held in 2025 , where its basic documents will be discussed and modified. With this democratic event, it is hoped to make a qualitative leap for the construction of the People’s Front as a revolutionary mass front .
