Austria: 120th Anniversary of the Anti-Fascist, Resistance Combatant and Communist Erwin Puschmann

On the 120th anniversary of his birth Rote Fahne, Austria, published a note, honoring Erwin Puschmann:

On February 8th, the birthday of the Austrian resistance combatant and communist, Erwin Puschmann, marks the 120th anniversary. At the time of Austria’s occupation, Puschmann fulfilled the function of the leadership of the Central Committee of the KPÖ [Translator’s note: Communist Party of Austria] in Austria and fought in the most difficult conditions of illegality for the reorganization of the leadership of the Party previously shattered by the Nazis. He was one of the great heroes who gave their lives for the liberation of Austria from Nazi fascism – despite the cruelest torture and the hardships of detention. He was decapitated by the National Socialists in 1943, not without the trust and certainty that the anti-fascist and anti-imperialist forces will bring down fascism!

Erwin Puschmann – A life for the working class and the liberation of Austria!
