Turkey: Martyrs of the Party and the Revolution commemorated in Prisons
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Yeni Demokrasi.
The martyrs of the Party and the Revolution were commemorated with demonstrations in Turkish prisons.
In the last week of January, the Commemoration Week of the Martyrs of the Party and the Revolution, those who were immortalized in the struggle for revolution and communism, was carried by the TKP/ML Prisoners in Tekirdağ, Gebze, Elazığ and Marmara prisons.
The commemorations began with a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs of the Party and the revolution. The commemoration continued reading the statement by the TKP/ML Prisoners: “The martyrs, who are the basis of the revolution, are lined up with honor all over these lands. Today, on the occasion of January 2025, we commemorate the Martyrs of the Revolution and Communism who made death meaningful. Glory to those who dedicate every moment to developing the revolution and those who are immortalized for the sake of the revolution. Our red flag, the legacy of our martyrs, will continue to wave in prisons, squares, factories, mountains, wherever we are.”
The commemoration held in Marmara Prison was also attended by MLKP, DHKP-C and DKP/BÖG prisoners. The messages sent by the MLKP and DKP/BÖG prisoners to the commemoration were read. The commemoration ended with enthusiasm by singing folk songs and anthems.
