Mexico: AIL – Report on actions for the Week of Solidarity with Palestine
Hereby we share some excerpts from the report published by Sol Rojo Mexico.
Current of the People – Red Sun, along with the Promoting Commission of the Anti-imperialist League in Mexico, participated in the successful Week of Solidarity with Palestine, marking the 77th anniversary of the Nakba.
They highlight the importance of the initiative “by expressing our total support for the heroic Palestinian National Resistance, which since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Flood has shown that the damned Zionist entity is not ‘invincible’.” It is also an important effort by spreading the Anti-imperialist League’s political line and building an anti-fascist and anti-imperialist alternative in Mexico.
Oaxaca
The Week of Solidarity kicked off with a Combative March on May 12, also marking the 7th anniversary of the forced disappearance of the comrade Dr. Ernesto Sernas García. Posters and dazibaos were put up with the flag of Palestine to boycott companies that financially support the genocide in Palestine, along with the face of Dr. Sernas, and graffiti was done.
On May 15, the Promoting Commission of the Anti-imperialist League (AIL), Current of the People – Red Sun, Youth Brigades of the People (BJP), and Popular Student Movement (MEP) carried out a massive spreading leaflets, putting up posters and dazibao. A 2 meters-long dazibao was put up, denouncing the Mexican State for refusing to break relations with Israel.
On May 17, some graffiti appeared in the city with the message “77 years of the Nakba! Free Palestine now!”
Tamaulipas
Propaganda was spread, and information was provided about the actions of the Committee of Solidarity with the People of Palestine – Tamaulipas, which acknowledged the work of the Promoting Commission of the Anti-imperialist League (AIL) during its activities.
Mexico City
A United March took place on May 18, where various organizations and united platforms participated, including activists from the Current of the People – Red Sun and also comrades from the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE), who since May 15 have initiated their national strike with the establishment of an indefinite sit-in in the main square.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!
