Spanish State – PRT: Against the extermination campaign by the fascist regime of Narendra Modi!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement published by the Revolutionary Workers’ Party (PRT).
SOLIDARITY WITH THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF INDIA (MAOIST), THE NAXALITE MOVEMENT, AND THE INDIAN PEOPLE!
From the Revolutionary Workers’ Party, we launch this message of internationalist solidarity with the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and proclaim our absolute condemnation of the Indian fascist, criminal, and genocidal State for the massacre perpetrated on Wednesday, May 21, in the Abujhmar area of Chhattisgarh state. In this incident, Comrade Basavaraj, General Secretary of the CPI (Maoist), as well as other comrades who are members of the Party and the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army, were murdered.
This crime is undoubtedly a tragedy for the people and revolutionaries of India, as it extinguishes a torch that guided the masses toward revolution. However, we must not dwell in lamentation or sorrow: the legacy of Comrade Basavaraj and the other martyrs of the revolution in India remains alive and inspires the people both in India and around the world. This is not the first severe blow the movement has received, nor will it be the last. As in previous instances, others will take up the torch and lead the revolution. We salute the brave efforts of the Indian comrades to keep that flame alive.
The Indian State, fascist, supremacist, and genocidal, has been seeking to physically exterminate the revolutionary movement for years through the “Green Hunt” operation launched in 2009. Indian fascists, Hindu supremacists, do not hesitate to brutally repress millions of people through open violence against broad sectors of the population and entire ethnic and religious groups, especially the Adivasis. Since then, they have been implementing draconian laws to suppress any real opposition to their regime: suppression of democratic rights; persecution and criminalization of protest; massive dispossession and forced displacements of the rural population; internment of entire communities in concentration camps; mass sterilization of Maoist and Adivasi women; all combined with legal protection for state security forces and their bolstering through paramilitary groups to kill anyone who opposes them with total impunity. This operation is nothing more than a replication in India of the genocidal practices that imperialism and reaction have applied wherever the proletariat and the peoples of the world have risen in arms for national liberation and socialism.
The Indian state, led since 2014 by the criminal fascist and Hindu supremacist Narendra Modi, has been trying for 15 years to eliminate the Maoist movement. Despite the blows, the People’s War in India remains the greatest threat to their dominance.
