On Thursday June 12 night and Friday June 13 dawn, the State of Israel carried out a large-scale military aerial operation against Iran to strike its nuclear program according to the available reports. The attack was focused in Tehran, but more attacks took place in different places all around the country. More than 80 mortal victims and more than 300 injured throughout the country were reported, but figures could change within the next days. It was reported that military, scientific and residential places were hit.
Among the murdered, several prominent people can be found: the Head of Revolutionary Islamic Guard (CGRI), Hossein Salami; Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, key figure of the Revolutionary Guard, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; Fereydoun Abbasi Dawai, the nuclear physicist, university professor and expertise officer of the Revolutionary Guard; Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of the Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard.
Less than 24 hours after the criminal Israeli attack, Iran answered. Tel Aviv was the main objective of the attacks in which hundreds of missiles and suicidal drones flight through Israeli heavens and stroke in numerous places of the city. Three killed and tens of injured were reported so far.
This attack happens at a very convenient moment due to the international critic and the globally mass mobilization which during last weeks are getting stronger before the continuous criminal actions by the State of Israel, for example, the kidnapping of Madleen boat, the use of the famine and the humanitarian aid in Gaza as weapons of war, and the intense bombardment against the Gaza Strip. So far more than 55,000 Palestinians have been murdered, most of them civilians. Additionally, the majority of the population has been internally displaced and famine is taking all over the Gaza Strip. At the same time, this attack interrupts the ongoing negotiations between Yankee imperialism and Iran, whose agreement could lead Israel to lose their arguments to attack Iran, as this last country would have had their nuclear program controlled under the IAEA, the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Meanwhile Yankee imperialism has applied a double-face policy: on one hand, the State Secretary Marco Rubio denied that USA knew something about the Israeli plans. On the other hand, other high-ranked people in Yankee politics, as the senator Lindsey Graham, saluted the attack. Donald Trump also stated to the media monopoly CNN that “we of course support” the Israeli attack which was “a very successful attack” while advising Iran in social media to accept a deal. The military US support to its lackey came quick, there are already reports of interceptions of Irani missiles in Israel by Yankee military units.
Yankee imperialism tried to take distance, negating being involved to avoid all critics against them. But the truth is that the biggest military Israeli operations were carried with close coordination and were always notified to Washington before. Moreover, the Yankee embassy in Iraq was partially evacuated hours before, also it was authorized that the personnel of numerous embassies abandoned the US facilities in Bahrein, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
This Israeli aggression is convenient also for Yankee Imperialism at a time when there is an escalation in internal instability due to the policy of mass deportation of migrants and the large protests and struggles that this has triggered in Los Angeles, among other places. We recommend our readers to read our recent translations on this topic:
This attack also serves to “close ranks” around Israel at a time when several imperialist powers have questioned the methods used by Israel and the U.S. in Palestine. Recently, leaders from the United Kingdom, Canada, and France, among others, warned of possible actions against Israel. However, following the Iranian response, numerous leaders from imperialist powers, including those from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom, have reaffirmed their commitment to protect the State of Israel and its “right” to “self-defense.”
Once more Israel has attacked an oppressed nation, following Yankee imperialism commands, and with no justification or provocation, violating its sovereign territory. In other instances over the past few years when Israel has attacked various other oppressed nations, such as Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, or Iran itself, the response from the peoples of the region has been unanimous: condemnation, mobilizations, and even attacks by different resistance movements. Worldwide, these attacks have regularly sparked protests and strengthened the anti-imperialist movement. We have regularly reported in recent years how each Israeli and U.S. aggression was met with protest mobilizations around the world, even in the very heart of the U.S. imperialist superpower. It is highly likely that this new aggression will once again unleash a wave of outrage and protest, fueling hatred against the criminal role of Israel and the imperialist powers, especially U.S. imperialism, in the region.
