
India: Red Farewell to Maoist Leaders Sudhakar and Bhaskar

On June 5, a funeral ceremony was held in the hometowns of Sudhakar, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), and Bhaskar, a member of the Telangana State Committee, who were killed by the fascist Indian army. Sudhakar and Bhaskar were honored with ceremonies attended by thousands.
The villages of Sudhakar and Bhaskar were decorated with red flags, the CPI (Maoist) flag, and photos of martyrs for the funeral ceremony.
THOUSANDS MARCHED WITH RED FLAGS
Bhaskar’s body was brought to his hometown of Pochera in Telangana state for the ceremony yesterday. Pochera village was filled with people arriving from various regions from early hours. Bhaskar’s body was covered with flags of the Communist Party of India (Maoist). In speeches made before the march, representatives from revolutionary writers’ associations, human rights organizations, and family members spoke out. They emphasized that the massacre was carried out under a “fake encounter” scenario. Speakers called for the immediate halt of the Kagaar Operation conducted by the reactionary Indian state. During the march, thousands carried red flags and chanted slogans such as “Bhaskar is Immortal” and “Long Live Bhaskar.” The procession, accompanied by revolutionary anthems, covered the village’s roads for about three hours as they bid farewell to Bhaskar in accordance with Hindu traditions. According to local sources, more than 3,000 people participated in the march.

RED FAREWELL TO MAOIST TEACHER SUDHAKAR
The funeral ceremony for Sudhakar, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), was held on the morning of June 9 in Eluru. CPI (Maoist) flags were hung at various points in the village where the funeral was to take place. A CPI (Maoist) flag was draped over Sudhakar’s body. Many attendees paid their respects to Sudhakar and the revolutionary martyrs. Representatives from political parties, democratic mass organizations, and revolutionary writers attended the ceremony. Revolutionary anthems were sung during the event. Many villagers and people from surrounding areas flocked to the funeral to see Sudhakar one last time. Crowds chanted slogans as they bid farewell to Sudhakar while carrying CPI (Maoist) flags.
