TKP/ML PB-CC: TKP/ML Continues to Advance on the Path and Line of İbrahim in its 54th Year of Struggle!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statementissued by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee (PB-CC) of the Communist Party of Turkey/Marxist-Leninist (TKP/ML).
To the Turkish and Kurdish peoples and our working people of various nationalities,
Our Party, the TKP/ML—the representative of the International Proletariat on Turkish soil and the flame of rebellion in the struggle for the Democratic People’s Revolution, Socialism, and Communism—is 54 years old.
Fifty-four years ago, on April 24, 1972, a small group of people led by the Communist Leader İbrahim KAYPAKKAYA shattered the 50-year silence that followed the Mustafa Suphi TKP (Communist Party of Turkey), rekindling hope from its ashes, which has carried us to this day by forging a great tradition of struggle over the past 54 years. It has experienced defeats and achieved victories; the red flag never once slipped from their hands. They marched on without growing accustomed to darkness, without bowing down, and by fighting under all conditions.
This Hope grew through action.
This Hope has become the revolutionary will of those whose labor is devalued, who are exploited, and whose voices are silenced.
This Hope is the people’s hope for liberation under the leadership of the working class.
The need to transform the revolutionary power of the people into an organized force is making itself felt with all its urgency. As the struggle for hegemony among imperialist powers intensifies, the working class and the oppressed working people of the world are being dragged into ever-greater darkness. The period of partial compromise that followed socialism’s temporary defeat has come to an end. It has been replaced by a prolonged process of crisis and conflict. This situation brings new wars of redistribution ever closer. Today, the struggle for hegemony among imperialists—advancing through regional maneuvers but marked by endless conflicts—signifies the collapse of a “dream.”
The narrative of “globalization” presented in the 1990s has collapsed today. Competition among imperialists has now transformed into a military confrontation as well as an economic and political one. The crisis inherent in the imperialist capitalist system is being imposed not only through the intensifying competition among imperialists but also as severe existential problems on the peoples of the world. On the one hand, the military dimension of imperialist competition—emerging as a product of the crisis from Ukraine to the Middle East and from the Middle East to the Persian Gulf—is unfolding, while on the other hand, the deepening of exploitation and the reckless seizure of the peoples’ social, national, and political gains are taking place. The economic crisis, intensifying political contradictions, and escalating military aggression are bringing fascist repression to the fore as an even greater necessity.
This describes not only the transformation of contradictions among imperialists into a fierce struggle, but also—and above all—the intensification of contradictions between the imperialists and the peoples of the world. For this reason, the imperialists are not merely intensifying their competition with one another; they are primarily focused on suppressing the revolutionary power of the working class and the peoples. This is the fundamental issue on which they agree, even amidst their own sharp contradictions. Because the imperialists and their lackeys know that every intensifying contradiction, by its direct impact on the lives of the people, also advances the revolutionary situation.
It is a fact that the intensification of contradictions among imperialists has not yet altered the reality that the revolution remains the main current. For this reason, while on the one hand the broad masses of the people are being forced to take sides in the hegemonic struggle among imperialists, on the other hand, the dynamics of the struggle are also targeted by attacks. Every rising voice is being suppressed, every barricade erected is being torn down, every flame of rebellion is being extinguished, and the people’s transformative power is being reined in.
These attacks target organized resistance and armed struggle, the most advanced form of resistance. On the one hand, through annihilation campaigns, and on the other, through elimination campaigns, they are attempting to erode the people’s armed will. The rulers, who desire a thornless rose garden in their imperialist hegemonic plans, are encircling organized struggle and armed struggle from all sides, aiming to eliminate them. This also aims to destroy the masses’ hope for liberation, to dull their consciousness, and to turn the masses into slaves in their own hegemonic struggles.
The imperialists are well aware that the unorganized masses are helpless, and they also recognize that the organized struggle along the armed resistance front poses the primary threat to their own hegemony. This historical awareness unites them in the orientation to “leave the people unorganized and unarmed,” even as they face off against each other today.
THOSE WHO SUBJECT THE PEOPLE TO HELL WILL BE OVERTHROWN BY THE REVOLUTION!
Comrades, friends, our working people;
Our Party, the TKP/ML, founded on a manifesto, has taken up the vanguard mission of putting an end to the exploitative order of the Turkish ruling classes—loyal servants of imperialism—while also embracing the struggle by assuming the duty of the international proletariat on Turkish soil. Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, the scientific ideology it upholds, is the sole and most realistic solution for the international proletariat and the oppressed working people of the world.
Revolution is action; every principle laid down has emerged from that action and exists to be translated back into action. Throughout its 54-year history, it has been tempered and hardened by the fiery heat of the struggle, never for a moment hesitating in its actions that have transformed, reshaped, and built while tearing down. It has acted—and continues to act—with the awareness that every blow struck against the comprador big bourgeoisie and the landlords is a blow against the imperialist capitalist system that is dragging humanity toward annihilation. We are conscious that we are a wave in the sea. We know that this sea, which will drown the imperialists and their lackeys, is the people.
The ruling classes in Turkey are becoming increasingly dependent on the imperialists they serve, shifting the full burden of the crisis onto the working class and the oppressed people. Turkey, which already has a fragile and weak economic structure, has seen the people’s lives pushed further into darkness as it shares the burden of this crisis. An insatiable appetite for profit has deepened exploitation, and nature has been subjected to even greater plunder. Decaying and corrupt imperialism and its lackeys have imposed this on the masses and spread it through every means. The fascist dictatorship, with its increasingly brutal attacks, has made it difficult for the masses to even breathe, dragging them into the vortex of blind violence. This process has built up deep anger among the masses; society has turned into a volcano ready to erupt. Efforts are being made to blunt the explosive, incinerating nature of this eruption, and the organized power of the masses is being targeted. As purgative attacks are carried out through policies even more comprehensive than before, the revolutionary dynamic is being sought to be eradicated. Our party is no stranger to such processes. Its founding did not merely mature through struggle against the existing dominant system; it emerged on the basis of a reckoning with and a break from purgative tendencies.
Our Party, whose founding manifesto calls for armed struggle and whose revolutionary strategy is to seize power step by step through the Protracted People’s War, has been tempered to the extent that it has fought against all liquidationist aggression to date and has secured a permanent place in the class struggle. Aware of the protracted nature of its struggle, our Party possesses a clear and resolute consciousness against all theories and approaches that breed despair and demoralization.
We are aware of our shortcomings and inadequacies. However, we possess the will, consciousness, and action to change this. Our tasks are more complex and difficult than ever before, but they are not impossible to fulfill. Our stance against not only the actual attacks on the revolutionary struggle and the armed wing of the revolution, but also against the liquidationist attacks spreading “impossibility” theories, remains as clear today as it was yesterday. We know that it is the revolution that will shatter the darkness, overthrow those who subject the people to hell, and create the light and the people’s own power. With this consciousness, we will cling more tightly to the People’s War and, with greater boldness, assume our leadership role in organizing the masses and channeling them into the struggle.
Our struggle for the Democratic People’s Revolution is also a challenge to imperialism. Every blow struck against the true masters of darkness from the epicenters of the revolution will strike at the very core of the system. Our revolutionary line also defines a consistent anti-imperialist stance at a time when imperialist aggression is growing increasingly intense. While intensifying the anti-imperialist struggle against imperialism’s stance of escalating and intensifying the war against the working people and oppressed nations, we will not tolerate the confusion of consciousness that views certain reactionary ruling powers—lacking in consistency—as bastions of anti-imperialism. We will strongly defend the proletariat’s alliance policy against approaches that view every “victim” as progressive while disregarding their class nature. Our consciousness of the enemy will be clear, and our tactical approach will be in harmony with our strategic line.
But what truly matters is weaving a course of action that will make this line a force in the material lives of the masses. This is where we have fallen short; this is what we have failed to achieve as a whole. However, we possess the science to reverse this, the ideology to guide us, and the practical will to unite with the masses. We will overcome our shortcomings and expand our successes.
As students and successors of the Communist Leader Comrade İbrahim KAYPAKKAYA, we cling firmly to the red path he charted. We will continue to unite our Party—which he created through his ideological and practical line—with the masses, develop the line of struggle, and protect, strengthen, and expand it against all forms of attack.
On the 54th anniversary of its founding, may glory be to our Party—which takes the science of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as its guide, insists on the line of People’s War, and stands as an open challenge to imperialism, its lackeys, and all forms of reaction!
– Down with Imperialism and All Forms of Reaction!
– Down with the Fascist Dictatorship of the Comprador Big Bourgeoisie and the Landlords! Long Live Our Struggle for the Democratic People’s Revolution!
