La Cause du Peuple reports that hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets for May Day this year, and that “young people were the main force this year.” Dozens of marches took place, with the recently reconstituted Communist Youth mobilizing numerous activists. There were red bloc demonstrations featuring banners and flags of the International Anti-Imperialist League – France, Partizan, and other organizations. In Paris alone, more than 300 activists marched in a red bloc formed by the Communist Youth together with the AIL-France, the Popular Committees for Support and Solidarity (CPES), students from the Fédération Syndicale Étudiante (FSE), revolutionary organizations from Turkey such as Partizan, and other groups.
Additionally La Cause du Peuple has published French translations of statements by the International Communist League (ICL) and the recently founded International Anti-Imperialist League (AIL):
The French Communist Youth has posted extensive photo reports and videos on its social media accounts and has encouraged young people to join its ranks: “This year, May Day was marked by the return of the Communist Youth, more than a century after its founding! The rebellious youth, who will soon be revolutionary, have reclaimed their organization. For the Socialist Revolution, join the Communist Youth!”
We hereby share some of the pictures and videos, published on the accounts of the Communist Youth of Instagram and Twitter.
