Once again, imperialist forces will rear their ugly heads and gather at the yearly G7 summit that will be held in Évian-les-Bains, France. As they attempt to subject the peoples of the world to their domination, exploitation and murderous aggression, they are facing the growing resistance of the peoples of the world. In response to this summit a mass demonstration has been called in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Group of Seven, or G7, gathers the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower and six of the richest imperialist powers operating within the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and consists of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and Italy. Each year they gather to discuss and plan economic, political and military strategy, sharpening their blades for yet another repartition of the world.

But who are the participants of this summit?

France

Colonizer, war monger and war criminal, slaver, torturer, andbutcher of the peoples. Imperialist France ticks off all the crimes against the people in their desperation to maintain and develop their plunder of the world.

  • France has conducted unspeakable crimes in all of its colonies, be it the Mỹ Trạch massacre against the national liberation in Vietnam, or the brutal massacres carried out against the national liberation movements in Algeria, Tunisia, or Syria, among many more.
  • Butcher of Africa, enslaving, exploiting and violating in its blind search for plunder and profit. In Algeria, the FLN waged a heroic national liberation struggle against France for many years, defending the people from the brutal repression of French rule. France murdered thousands of protesting Algerians demanding independence in the 1961 Paris massacre, in a monstrous, failed attempt at extinguishing the flame of national liberation.
  • France has many a blood-debt to pay for the participation in the bloodshed of the slave trade, heavily supplied and maintained by the enslavement of people conducted in the French colonies.
  • France has carried out brutal repression campaigns against its island colonies, as with the Kanaky uprisings in 2024, where the people fiercely revolted for their self determination, and State forces murdered of at least 11 people, as with the murders by French forces in the revolts in Martinique. In Haiti, the unbridled rage at the crimes of France and the yearning for freedom of the Haitian people lead to the Haitian revolution, the first successful slave revolt in history.
  • Enemy of all progressive and democratic movements, as we see throughout France’s history and still today, with the massacres carried out against the national liberation movements of its colonies, with the heavy repression of the Palestine solidarity movement in France, and the repression carried out against all popular causes in France.
  • Still today, while having 11 colonies under French rule today, France is rearing the horses of colonization, still in search of another people to subjugate. We saw it most recently in the French organized “Africa Forward” summit, in an attempt at further subjugating the country in the favor of French interests, with the massive protests mobilized against this summit showing that the peoples of the world will no longer accept the French exploitation of their land.

In this context, France is planning its participation in the upcoming G7 summit, planning to even further cement itself as a plunderer and enemy of the people. As the G7 summit grows nearer, any democratic, progressive and anti-imperialist organization or individual will heed the call and take to the streets against the G7 summit.

We will continue to update on any new information regarding the G7 summit and the upcoming demonstration.
