On June 4th, The New People’s Army (NPA) – Rodante Urtal Command from Northern Samar has eliminated five soldiers – and injured many more – of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Revolution Web Central (PRWC) reports.
The AFP troops were conducting a searching operation when they alerted the red combatants who opened fire first. After five minutes of continuous firing, the red combatants immediately withdrew. The enemy soldiers continued to fire until they reached the abandoned NPA position, not realizing that the target they were firing at had not been there for five minutes.
The AFP previously declared that the NPA guerrilla front in Northern Samar had been dismantled, but now they are spreading the news to the people that three NPA platoons had attacked them.
