Turkey: Five Partizan Readers Arrested in Ankara

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a note from Yeni Demokrasi published on June 26th.


On June 23, hundreds of people, including Partizan readers, were detained in house raids in Ankara before the upcoming NATO Summit. Five Partizan readers were arrested.

Of those brought to court yesterday, 69 were arrested. Decisions regarding those referred to the Magistrates’ Court continue to be made. Accordingly, 5 Partizan readers, 7 from Revolutionary Youth Associations, 5 from the Revolutionary Party, and 3 from Kızılbayrak were arrested.

Court decisions regarding the other arrested are awaited.
