On the 4th of July, at the call of the Alliance Against NATO and Imperialist War (PAN-IW), hundreds of people marched from Place de la République to Châtelet, La Cause du Peuple reports.

Kicking off the march were several speeches, among them a speech from the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL), to which we include the concluding slogans:

Long live international solidarity!

Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people!

Down with NATO! Down with war! Long live the struggle of oppressed peoples!

Down with NATO operations! Freedom for the prisoners!

Within the bloc of the AIL, the Communist Youth (JC), the FSE, and readers of Partizan participated, and La Cause du Peuple reports that they were joined in the march by “other organization of the Turkish diaspora such as The Association of Immigrant Workers of Turkey (ACTIT), the European Confederation of Democratic Rights (ADHK), the BIR-KAR platform, the Young Struggle collective, the newspapers ODAK and PDD, as well as the Kurdish Democratic Council in France.”

Speeches were held throughout the march, one of which were held by the Communist Youth, in solidarity with the People’s War in India, and once the march arrived at Place du Châtelet, the Communist Youth and Partizan unfurled a banner calling for the release of political prisoners in Turkey while singing the Internationale.

Slogans such as “Down with NATO! Down with the war, long live the struggle of the masses!”, “Erdogan: Fascist, you’re the terrorist!”, “Yankees Go home!” were heard by the demonstrators throughout the demonstration.
