Conference in Toronto Opposing Militarization and Plunder in the Philippines

The International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP), in partnership with the Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS) and the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), will hold the Kapit Bisig global conference in Toronto on September 25–26, 2026. The event’s title is Kapit Bisig: Linking Arms Across the World Against the US War of Suppression on the Filipino People.

The conference organizers criticize the Philippine government’s counterinsurgency policies and US–Philippines military cooperation, and state as the goal of the conference to be building a solidarity movement for the Filipino people.

The organizer expect the event to bring together international solidarity organizations, human-rights advocates, trade unionists, |Philippines, as well as individuals from the international solidarity movement for the Philippines.”
