India: New developments on guerrilla actions

The first action happened at Friday 5th of May, in Gaya district, in Bihar state. The action happened as follows: “Police said on Saturday that a group of armed guerrillas attacked the camp of the private firm at Barha village near Chakarbandha forest around midnight and held the employees captive before setting an earth-moving machine and other equipment, on fire. They also left handwritten pamphlets warning certain people of stern action against them for being hands in glove with the state police.”. This kind of actions are carrying out usually, because the abusive action of the big mining companies and construction firms in many states of India. This companies often threaten and expel peasants from their lands in order to own them, for example at the Bastar district. We already written about it.
The second action happened on Sunday 7th May, in the state of Telengana, in the district of Bhadradri-Kothagudem, bordering with Chhattisgarh. Local media describe the action as follows: “According to a senior police official, the exchange of fire happened when police personnel were combing a forest area in Cherla mandal of the district.” [Author’s note: a mandal is an administrative unit, in between the town and the district, and can gather several villages or towns]. There were not casualties for any side. [Nota del autor: un mandal es una unidad administrativa intermedia entre el distrito y los municipios o localidades] del distrito.” No hubo bajas para ninguno de los dos lados.
The Indian State is carrying out a campaign against guerrillas in several places of the country. Regarding this kind of operations, the Thursday 11th May another police agent was seriously wounded in the Jharkhand state by an explosion of an Improvised Explosive Device [IED]. The explosion happened in a forest near of the Ichahatu town. Local media highlight the relevance of this police operation being carrying out on the area: “A massive combing operation has been launched in West Singhbhum district since January 11 following intelligence inputs about the presence of top Maoist leader.”
Finally, the nigh in between Wednesday 10th of May and Thursday 11th May, in Kandhamal district, Odisha, the Maoists eliminate a police informant, who according to the police, was a sarpanch time ago [Athor’s note: a sarpanch is a local authority in India]. This man fled from his born town, Saulipada, but he returned after the construction of a new CRPF [Central Reserve Police Forces, national police in Indian State] camp.
