General Strike in Greece Brings Thousands to the Streets

On Monday, 1st of October, tens of thousands took to the streets in Greece to protest against the anti-people’s policies of the government, particularly how the workers’ rights are attacked in this new proposed labor bill. Dozens of cities and towns of the country witnessed massive marches.

Several general strikes and days of struggle have taken place in the last months in Greece. The anti-people’s policies unleashed by the government against the working class and the people were met with massive mobilizations. The Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist) [KKE (m-l)] condemned the new labor bill by the government, named “Kerameos bill”. Among other things, this bill proposes more hours of unpaid work, a 13-hour workday, and in general it is an attack against the rights of the working class in Greece.

Along with the KKE (m-l) many organizations, unions, etc., called to mobilize on 1st of October to defend the people’s and workers’ rights. We hereby share a compilation of some pictures and videos of the mobilizations and protests:
