International Palestine Solidarity Actions

There have been Palestine solidarity actions in several countries the past several weeks, and we hereby share some of them.

Current of the People Red Sun and Anti-Imperialist League (Mexico) Promoting Committee has issued a national call for “new actions in solidarity with the heroic Palestinian National Resistance.”, detailing the situation in Palestine and the reiterating the Palestinian National Resistance’s dedication to continue with “the finger on the trigger” in defense of the Palestinian people.

They call for graffiti, posters, leaflets, meetings, talks, film screenings, discussions, and “anything else that contributes to raising the solidarity of the peoples of Anáhuac with the people of Palestine and their heroic National Resistance.”

Rote Fahne of Austria writes that they have received reports that activists of the Palestine solidarity movement have carried out an action against the cooperation of the University of Vienna with Israel.

They write that “A huge Palestinian flag was unfurled, and flares and leaflets were used to draw attention to the University of Vienna’s current partnership with the Hebrew University in Israel The activists demanded an immediate end to this “strategic partnership” and also protested against repression at the universities: “Stop the repression against pro-Palestinian students and faculty.”

Rote Fahne also reports that on 29th of November the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People drew thousands of people to the streets of Vienna.

They write that “Among the central demands were humanitarian aid for the Palestinians, which continues to be withheld. Equally important was the demand for the withdrawal of all Israeli soldiers from Gaza and the West Bank. […] This demand was underscored with numerous leaflets distributed by a group from the Palestine Committee Vienna and Dar al-Janub.

They write that slogans such as “’From the river to the sea – Palestine will be free!’ was chanted loudly, even after some participants were unlawfully arrested for chanting it at the beginning of the demonstration.”

Kampkomiteen reports that in Norway there have been a demonstration with many participating organizations, including Kampkomiteen, condemning the increased State repression against the Palestine solidarity movement, highlighting the continued repression of the three Palestine activists who were arrested last year after they asked questions and shouted slogans to the leader of the Progress Party (FRP) of Norway, Sylvi Listhaug. The recent demonstration also condemned the recently 22 arrested Palestine activists who were arbitrarily arrested after a demonstration against the football match between Norway and Israel.

We previously translated a statement on the State repression of the Palestine movement in Norway:

Kampkomiteen writes that the demonstration started at Grønland Torg with speeches and a musical performance. The demonstration continued in a march toward the courts where the appealed case against the three Palestine activists will be held, where more speeches were held, and a call was made for the participation in the demonstration outside of the court while the court case is in session. Anti-imperialist League flags were also observed in the demonstration.

Some of the slogans shouted included: “Defend the right to protest! Support the three Palestine activists!”, “Support and defend the 22 arrested!”, “Stop PST’s persecution of Palestine activists!” [PST – Norwegian Police Security Force]

Kampkomiteen reports that activists in Kristiansand have participated in an event on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, where “there was performed speeches, the Palestinian dance ‘dabke’, poems, and traditional and revolutionary songs.” A theater piece was also performed, highlighting that “justice inevitably will triumph, no matter how long it takes.”

Activists from Kristiansand also participated in the weekly Palestine demonstrations
