We have previously reported on the case led against three Palestine activists from Norway, who in April 2024 were arrested by the Police Security Service (PST) of Norway for following and shouting slogans to the Progress Party (FrP) politician Sylvi Listhaug.

Since then they have won two rounds in the Norwegian courts, one in the District Court and one in the next instance, the Court of Appeals. Both were prosecuted by the State Prosecutor. Now a third attempt at an appeal was up for deliberation in the Supreme Court.

Tjen Folket Media reports that the Supreme Court has decided to reject the appeal, and that this means that the case has finally been concluded, with “a complete victory for the three and everyone who has supported them.”, noting also that this case since the beginning has been an attack on the entire movement, citing a statement from PST that this was supposed to have a “chilling effect”.

Tjen Folket Media concludes: “We are convinced that the support and mobilization have contributed positively to the outcome of the case, and that this shows some of the power that exists in popular mobilization and joint struggle. It is also a great victory for the three defendants, who did not give up in the face of persecution. In doing so, they won not only a victory for themselves, but for all anti-imperialists and the entire solidarity movement for Palestine.”
