Operation Kagaar was protested in Vienna
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a report published by Avrupa Haber.
The extensive military offensive launched in India by the fascist and reactionary Modi government under the name “Operation Kagaar”, aimed at crushing the People’s War led by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) and subjugating the indigenous people, was protested in Vienna, the capital of Austria. The action’s participating revolutionary and democratic organizations exposed the Indian State’s dirty war policies against its people.
Speeches delivered at the demonstration emphasized that the Indian State has long been pursuing a systematic policy of extermination, liquidation, and forced displacement against the Adivasi people, particularly those living in the country’s forested and mining regions. It was stated that under Operation Kagaar, villages were burned and emptied, thousands were forced to migrate, intense military attacks were carried out against revolutionary forces and the people, and countless civilians were massacred.
It was stated that these attacks by the fascist Modi government are not merely a “security operation,” but a policy of plunder and occupation carried out on behalf of international monopolies and large mining companies. It was emphasized that the aim is to suppress the Maoist guerrilla movement in the region in order to open up to imperialist countries the rich underground resources located in areas where the guerrilla movement is active, and where their supporters live.
The demonstration also stated that the People’s War waged under the leadership of the CPI (Maoist) is a legitimate and justified resistance against imperialism, feudalism, and reactionary State terror. It was emphasized that revolutionary and democratic forces should strengthen international solidarity with this resistance, and a call was made to immediately halt the dirty war waged by Modi’s fascism against the people.
The banners and signs carried during the protest, and the slogans chanted included “Stop Operation Kagaar,” “End Indian State Terrorism,” “Long Live International Solidarity,” and “Long Live the Resistance of the People.”
