Spanish State – Revolutionary Committees: Statement on May Day
We hereby share an unofficial translation of the call by the Revolutionary Committees from the Spanish State, published on 26th of April.
Take to the streets!
Strengthen the anti-imperialist struggle!
We call on the working class to take to the streets this May Day and join the demonstrations organized in working-class neighborhoods and the suburbs. We call for the unity of the Spanish proletariat with the nations and peoples exploited by Spanish imperialism in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. We will not win without struggling against our common enemy: the Spanish imperialist State. Proletarians and oppressed peoples of the world, unite!
On International Proletarians’ Day, we also call for the defense, support, and promotion of the People’s Wars in India, Peru, Turkey, and the Philippines, because they are the most advanced proletarian struggles in the world, destroying the old power of the exploiters and building a new revolutionary power where the people rule. Most especially, we call for the defense of the People’s War in India and the Communist Party of India (Maoist) that leads it, which has defeated “Operation Kagaar” despite the successive extermination campaigns of the imperialists and big landlords. We raise our flags to honor the martyrdom of comrades Basavaraj, Hidma, Sudhakar, Renuka, Baskhar, Raje, Prabhakar, Rupi, and so many others, who gave their lives for the cause of the proletariat and the poorest people of India. Long live the People’s War in India!
We also call for the defense of the just resistance of the world’s oppressed peoples against imperialism, greeting the national resistance in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran, and especially the Palestinian national resistance, which, during the Al-Aqsa Flood, once again unequivocally demonstrated, that imperialism is a paper tiger. We call for celebrating every stone, every bullet, and every missile that strikes the Yankee, Russian, and Chinese imperialists – all imperialists – in each and every one of their wars of aggression and plunder for the division of the world’s resources. Long live the Wars of National Resistance against imperialism in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and throughout the world!
May Day 2026, as in recent years, takes place against a backdrop of deep crisis and decomposition of the global imperialist system. Around the world, both in the imperialist powers and in the oppressed nations ruled by lackey regimes, States are militarizing to intensify repression against workers’ struggles. And despite the increase in repression – from the “mildest” forms (repressive laws, police infiltration) to the most savage (war against the people, as in Mexico or Brazil) –the popular protest is intensifying and growing in scale worldwide. To advance the world revolution, we revolutionaries must build a vigorous anti-imperialist movement wherever we are, with the ultimate goal of liberating the nation from the imperialist yoke (in an oppressed country) or unleashing the socialist revolution (in an imperialist country). In the Spanish example, it is our duty to put an end to Spanish imperialism and its political instrument, the imperialist State, sweeping away along the way the whole gang of bureaucrats and opportunistic politicians who sustain it. Down with Spanish imperialism!
Our final call is to the revolutionary masses of our country: to carry out actions on May Day that help strengthen the unity of anti-imperialists. Not only against the aggressions of US imperialism against the peoples of the world, but also in the struggle against the Spanish imperialist State, its leaders, and all its accomplices. We call on you to join the Spanish section of the International Anti-Imperialist League (LAI), which is open to all honest anti-imperialists. Anti-imperialists of the world, unite!
