On July 15th the Lebanese army seized a checkpoint of the Beddawi refugee Palestinian camp, controlled by the Palestinian resistance faction Fatah al-Intifada.

The deputy secretary-general of the Fatah al-Intifada movement denounced this, stating that this aggression of the Lebanese army will affect the Palestinian masses living in the camp. Footage has already been published of members of the Lebanese army confiscating a truck carrying food.

Beddawi is not the first camp to be attacked. Last year, two other Palestinian camps were also seized by the Lebanese army after an agreement signed on May 2025 by the Lebanese Prime Minister with representatives of the General Secretary of the PLO and representatives of the so-called Palestinian Authority “to begin the process of disarming Palestinian refugee camps.”

Additionally, this occupation takes place amidst the visit of the Lebanese President, Joseph Aoun, to Washington, with the goal of strengthening US-Lebanon relations after the trilateral agreement between US, Israel and Lebanon last June. This agreement demands the disarmament of Hezbollah as the condition for the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.

These actions show the lackey character of the State of Lebanon, which is selling the country, attacking the resistance which defends the sovereignty of Lebanon against Israeli occupation, and in addition attacks the Palestinian resistance, following the orders of Yankee imperialism.
