CIIT: Urgent communique on aggressions against Mogoñé Viejo

We share a video from the comrades of the independent media Degeneración that shows the two faces of AMLO [Andrés Manuel López Obrador] towards indigenous peoples, as well as a joint communique from democratic organizations in solidarity with the ejidatarios of Mogoñé Viejo after the aggressions against them.

We, the signing organizations, express our repudiation against the government of the state of Oaxaca and the federal government for the violent eviction of the Mogoñé Viejo camp, which was maintained by Mixe comrades affected by the Interoceanic Corridor, without any resolution of their petitions to date.

It is regrettable that this government of “change” who promised and publicly expressed not to commit acts against the population, uses repressive and military force to repress social protest and the right to self-determination and demonstration of the people; it is fundamental that these repressive acts are not committed and are not repeated, therefore we demand that the integrity of each of the defenders of the land and territory, detained in this operation, be guaranteed, that they be presented alive and that their physical integrity be guaranteed.

These acts are part of a strategy that seeks to stop and attack the actions of the Caravan “el Sur Resiste”, which gives visibility to the war of power against the people, as in the case of the comrades who have maintained this sit-in for 60 days.

We demand the immediate release of the detained comrades.

We call to generate diverse actions to stop once and for all these repressive acts of the state.
