Editorial Servir al Pueblo: From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free

We publish an unofficial translation on the 8th editorial of Servir al Pueblo from the Spanish State.

With the beginning of Operation “The Al-Aqsa Flood” on the morning of October 7, the Palestinian national resistance began a large-scale counteroffensive against the genocidal State of Israel. This attack completely surprised the Israeli government and army. The revolutionary media The Red Herald wrote the following in its report about the event:

“The Gaza strip is a concentration camp, isolated from the world by Israel in air, land and sea, in a manner which violates the article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the use of collective punishment. Despite this, the Palestinian national resistance fighters were able to carry out a well-coordinated attack into Israel, breaking through the unlawful siege. (…)

While the international bourgeois press is spewing propaganda about a “murderous attack of terrorists” and crying about Israeli “civilians”, Israel is targeting Palestinian civilians, and hospitals providing care to the wounded, among whom there is children. It has also cut electricity from the Gaza Strip. In publicity, Israel said the residents of Gaza Strip should evacuate, but Al Jazeera reports that they are not allowed to leave, and Israel is killing whole families by bombing residential buildings. Similar actions are nothing new to the Palestinian people, but this time they are hitting the enemy hard, making Israel and its master the US imperialism tremble in fear, outwitting the highly militarized State of Israel and its hi-tech and large-in-numbers military by the initiative and creativeness of the people.” (08/10/2023)

Dare to struggle, dare to win

Operation “The Flood” is a political, moral and military victory of the heroic Palestinian resistance against the Zionist invader and Yankee imperialism. The media bombardment of the bourgeois press and the genocidal actions of Israel can blur our vision and ask us the following question: how is it possible for this to be a victory after so many deaths and a land invasion? The answer is simple: the Palestinian people have decided to fight rather than die little by little. Furthermore, against an enemy that surpasses him in terms of weapons.

It is a military victory because so much damage has not been done to the State of Israel for decades. It is an important victory if we take into account the difference in military power between both parties.

It is a political victory because it demonstrates, once again, that nations oppressed by imperialism want freedom. And they take it by force, because political power grows out of the barrel of a gun as Chairman Mao teaches us. The Al-Aqsa Flood teaches us that 1) the masses do not reject violence, but rather take up the rifle to fight against imperialism; 2) that the Palestinian people will never surrender, that they would rather be dead than surrendered; 3) that “the atomic bomb is a paper tiger” (Mao Tse-Tung), that is, that what is fundamental in war is not the weapons, the technical and military advantage, but the people who fight. His motives, his decision, his will.

It is a moral victory because it deals a hard blow to the State of Israel and Zionism, saying: “we are here and we will fight until all our people are dead.” When Zionist propaganda and the media of imperialism throughout the world propagated the idea that the Palestinian resistance was non-existent, practically dead after so many blows and systematic genocide, the national resistance shows the entire world that it is still alive and willing to fight. Assuming the cost of blood that is necessary.

Revisionists and opportunists of all kinds cry: “it was not a good decision” and similar things. His vision is narrow and he does not abandon short-termism, thinking that the actions of the national resistance are bad because they have led to a ground invasion of Gaza. And the answer is: should the Palestinian people have waited to die little by little? Isn’t Israel’s genocidal plan to wipe out the Palestinians and continue its colonial and occupation policy? Indeed, we had to fight.

The Flood will not ebb

In an article by the aforementioned Red Herald, a text with this name was published on October 10, we can read who is on which side:

In the question of belligerents there are on the Palestinian side reported to be: The Hamas and the Al-Qassam Brigades, the Islamic Jihad and the Al-Quds Brigades, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the National Resistance Brigades, as well as the Lions’ Den and the Hezbollah. On the side of Israel it is Yankee Imperialism, by the deployment of a naval strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford to the eastern Mediterranean, including the cruiser USS Normandy and the destroyers USS Thomas Hudner, USS Ramage, USS Carney, and USS Roosevelt. Additionally the US Air Force augmented its F-35, F-15, F-16, and A-10 fighter squadrons in the region.

Finally it is noteworthy that all the surrounding regimes in the Middle East maybe have raised their voice in support of the Palestinian cause, but none of them (maybe except Iran, which officially denies this) have taken a single step to confront the aggressor and join the just uprising of the Palestinian people. They are lackeys to their imperialist masters, anti-patriotic, fatherland-selling traitors, what is again and again proven by their deeds.”

That this is a war between Israel and Hamas is yet another crude attempt by imperialism and its lackeys in the media to turn public opinion against the Palestinian cause and in favor of Zionism. There is only one possible answer for honest revolutionaries, democrats and progressives: support the Palestinian cause without doubting!
