On February 1st an officer of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured in an IED blast in the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

On February 2nd it was reported that Maoists had torched a mixing machine and a tractor used in road construction in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district. They had stormed the construction site and declared that the construction should be stopped, and torched the machines. According to reports, 50 armed Maoists took part in the action. This action is part of the frequent sabotage of a road construction project in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar division.

On February 7th two “security personnel” were killed and one was injured in an encounter with the Maoist guerrillas in Bairio forest, Jharkhand’s Chatra district.

In Odisha, in the Kandhamal district, which is currently under intensified repressive operation of the old State, the CPI(Maoist) had put up posters denouncing the fake encounters of villagers and refuting claims of surrendered cadres. The posters also called for an end for the repressive operation taking place in the district.

The old Indian State is repeatedly claiming that the People’s War will be defeated in the next years, and it has now launched a series of repressive operations, facing firm opposition from the guerrillas as well as the masses, who in many villages protest the presence of the so-called “security forces”. Already during January the old State has received heavy blows, as we have reported. It is also reported that during 2023, fatalities of “security forces” doubled in numbers. In all parameters and data published by the old State, it is indicated that the People’s War remains vital and the repressive operations are not able to establish control in wide areas.
