ECUADOR: ON THE AGGRESSION OF IMPERIALISM ON LEBANON

LET US PUT A STOP TO THE AGGRESSION OF IMPERIALISM AND ITS FRONT MEN AGAINST THE PEOPLES OF THE WORLD!

We publish an unofficial translation of an article from the website of the Front to Defend the Struggles of the People – Ecuador.

First they massacred the Palestinians: men, women, children, old people. But since we were not Palestinians, we didn’t care.

Then they bombed Yemen, but since we were not Yemenis, we didn’t care either.

Then they attacked Syria and Iraq, but since we were not Syrians or Iraqis, we didn’t care either.

Later they attacked Iranians, but since we were not Iranians, we didn’t care either.

Now they indiscriminately attack Lebanon, but since we were not Lebanese, we didn’t care either.

Now they are coming for us, but it is too late.

Surely, what Bertolt Brecht originally pointed out in his poem and the adaptation we have made for this text, in relation to what is happening in the field of international struggle, is a warning for the peoples of the world to better understand what is happening in Asia. We cannot and should not wait for imperialism, Zionism and all the criminal expressions of the U.S. to destroy our countries, either by armed means or by the imposition of the colonial and semi-colonial yoke. We should not wait for them to cut our throats or make us “blow up in a thousand pieces” to react and give the necessary answers to avoid the extermination of our peoples.

We must also understand that imperialism does not operate alone; it has strategic allies: the opportunists, the insensitive, those who fill their mouths talking about revolution and the struggle against imperialism, but who are marked by inaction or complicity. They are the ones who keep a large sector of the masses tied to silence, to resignation, before this type of atrocities. Revisionism, the electoralists and opportunists care little or nothing about what happens to our brothers and comrades in Asia and elsewhere on the planet. When they realize the gravity of this violence, it will be too late for everyone.

On the contrary, the international proletariat and the conscious element of the oppressed peoples of the world are concerned and committed to what is happening in Asia, particularly in the countries of the Middle East.

We must deploy an internationalist effort, not to put ourselves on the defensive against imperialism, but to go on the offensive. It is urgent to develop the anti-imperialist struggle on all fronts. We must make them feel that they cannot continue massacring peoples and scattering defenseless victims everywhere without resistance.

We cannot be like the Jews of Auschwitz who marched religiously to their martyrdom; we must be of the caliber of the Yemeni people, who from their difficult conditions dare to struggle against imperialism and its lackeys. We must be nourished by the stoic firmness of the Palestinian people, who resist despite facing Yankees and Zionists. We must have the mettle and conviction of the Lebanese people, who offer resistance to one of the strongest military powers in the world.

Imperialism, Zionism and the reaction only have sophisticated weapons, we have the best strategy: People’s War, it is invincible. There is no weaponry or technology that can oppose it.

They, imperialism and Zionism, bring hunger, exploitation and death to the peoples of the world. We, the oppressed class, wage a just war, a war of liberation. History has taught us that those who wage just wars are destined to triumph. There is no doubt: Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon and the other peoples of the world who struggle tirelessly against imperialism, Zionism and all their lackeys, WILL TRIUMPH!

The proletariat and the people of Ecuador stand in solidarity with the brother people of Lebanon in the face of the bloody offensive of criminal Zionism which, in its first days, has already cost the lives of children and inhabitants in a state of defenselessness.
