More Actions for Comrade Basavaraj and Against Operation Kagaar

The campaign in honor Comrade Basavaraj and to support the People’s War in India continue all over the world. Activists from several countries have carried out more actions and hereby we share a compilation of some of them.
Avrupa Haber has reported that during the AGEB’s camp in Greece, a moment of silence in memory of the guerrilla commanders, leading cadres and people’s warriors of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), and in particular of its General Secretary, Comrade Basavaraj, was carried out. After the minute of silence a speech in solidarity with the revolutionary struggle and the People’s War was held. Afterwards slogans such as “Comrade Basavaraj is immortal!” and “Long Live the CPI (Maoist), Long Live the People’s War!” were chanted.


An event called by the Anti-Imperialist League (AIL) took place in July 15 in Sorocaba, São Paulo, Brazil. A discussion table was formed by the AIL, MOCLATE, Union Collective Class Issue and a representative from the APEOESP. Afterwards interventions by People’s Women’s Movement (MFP), People’s Dawn, Workers’ League and the State Executive of the Pedagogy Students of São Paulo to support the people’s struggle in India were done. Homages to the heroic combatants of the Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), the Communist Party of India (Maoist) (CPI (Maoist) and from the Brazilian people have been paid.



The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) carried out a memorial event in Southern Tagalog. The regional unit of the New People’s Army (Melito Glor Command) launched gatherings to honor the martyrs of India. The Red combatants made posters and other forms of art to pay tribute to the CPI (Maoist), the People’s Liberation Guerilla Army and their martyrs. They particularly paid tribute to Comrade Basavaraj and a statement was read out.



In Portugal the Magazine New Dawn with the support of Anti-Imperialist Action and the Library Trama has carried out an event to raise awareness and support the People’s War in India, on August 2. The representatives of the organizations exposed the historical roots of the current situation in India, the foundation of the communist movement in the country and the development of the masses’ struggle. They also condemned the repression by the old Indian State. Students and young workers attended the event.

Anti-Imperialist Action from Portugal also issued a statement in support of the People’s War in India:
