Criminals of the G7 Summit: #7 Canada

Once again, imperialist forces will rear their ugly heads and gather at the yearly G7 summit that will be held in Évian-les-Bains, France. As they attempt to subject the peoples of the world to their domination, exploitation and murderous aggression, they are facing the growing resistance of the peoples of the world. In response to this summit a mass demonstration has been called in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Group of Seven, or G7, gathers the sole hegemonic imperialist superpower and six of the richest imperialist powers operating within the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and consists of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and Italy. Each year they gather to discuss and plan economic, political and military strategy, sharpening their blades for yet another repartition of the world.

But who are the participants of this summit?

Canada

While imperialist Canada might hind behind the crimes of its big brother, Yankee imperialism, it is by no means innocent of crimes against humanity, supporting actively the genocide in Palestine, carrying out bloody campaigns of genocide against its indigenous population and participating in the imperialist wars on the Middle East, and abetting in the criminal repartition of the Middle East between allied forces after WW1.

• Supplier of genocide, arming Israel in its genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people, through exports of weapons valued at 15 million USD every year. In 1947 Canada chaired the committee responsible for the UN resolution that partitioned Palestine into ethnically segregated States. On top of it all, Canada has enacted draconian measures in an attempt to stifle the Palestine solidarity movement within Canada.
• Conductor of genocide, carrying out morbid crimes of ethnic cleansing, such as campaigns of forced sterilization, and an outright genocide of the Beothuk people and the indigenous population of Newfoundland, who was murdered through systematic campaigns of starvation.
• Butcher of the oppressed nations, participating in the many bloody imperialist wars, such as the Iraq war, the war on Yugoslavia, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Libya, with a continued presence in most of these countries for “anti-terrorist measures”
• Enemy of the peoples struggle, waging a war against the indigenous population of Canada in their colonial frenzy, through massacres such as the Massacre on Cypress Hill. Still to this day, Canada repress the indigenous population, recently massing State repressive forces against protesters of a pipeline going through indigenous Wet’suwet’en territory.

As a clear enemy of the people, Canada and the imperialist clique that is the G7, will meet to further plan their further exploitation and military domination of the peoples of the world, and as the G7 summit grows near, any democratic, progressive and anti-imperialist organization or individual will heed the call and take to the streets against the G7 summit.
