Italy: India Solidarity Campaign Promoted in a Mobilization Against Militarization and War in Aviano

On June 6th, a demonstration was held in Aviano, involving various groups from the Veneto and Friuli regions, opposing the historic presence of the American military base and protesting the policies of war and imperialism. The demonstration took place along a 4-kilometer route to the Aviano base, used by the Italian and Yankee troops in the framework of the NATO agreements. The base was used to bombard the Balkans during the 90s. Numerous organizations were present. Per la Democrazia Popolare collectives distributed leaflets in support of the campaign in solidarity with the People’s War in India.

The leaflet called to “all anti-imperialists, to all supporters of the great Palestinian National Resistance, the glorious resistance of Iran and Lebanon, to all interested anti-fascist and democratic groups” to join the solidarity and struggle, and to “build the necessary solidarity with the New Democratic revolution underway in India and to organize presentations and events with all political groups and movements interested in supporting this great internationalist battle”.
