Israel has signed a new plan to expand illegal settlements in the West Bank, deepening its aggression against Palestine and its people. According to the Israeli State, $2.3 billion will be invested in construction of 12,000 new housing units in the illegal settlements and in infrastructure mega-projects.
According to the Israeli media, this is a “giant” step that would accelerate settlement construction while “changing the face of the region.”
This plan comes together with a wave of increasing attacks of Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people, and Israeli expansion of its occupied area. During the last three years, Israel has advanced in its occupation and the settlements now constitute around 18% of the total area of the West Bank.
However, the people of Palestine continue the struggle for their land with actions against the Israeli forces. One of the latest reports shows that the Palestinian Resistance carried out 19 operations in 48 hours, not only confronting Israeli soldiers, but also repelling settler assaults and injuring several of them.
