Austria – Rally in Linz: Freedom for Mustafa Ayyash!

Die Rote Fahne Austria reported on a solidarity action which included demands of the immediate release of Mustafa Ayyash on Wednesday July 8th. The rally started with a call to unite against the repression and defend the democratic rights of the people, denouncing in several speeches the case of the Palestinian journalist Mustafa Ayyash, imprisoned in solidarity confinement.

As the newspaper reports: “A speaker from the Palestine Committee Linz emphasized in his address that the arrest of Mustafa Ayyash vividly demonstrates the attempts by those in power to silence dissenting opinions and movements. He further stated that Mustafa’s cause is not ‘only’ the cause of the pro-Palestinian movement, but also of the democratic movement, and called for active unity against the repression.”

The passersby supported the demonstration and slogans such as “Free Mustafa Ayyash!” and “Long live international solidarity!” were chanted.
