FDLP – ECUADOR: Yankees and Zionists, Go Home!
We hereby share an unofficial translation of a statement published by he Defense Front of the People’s Struggles in Ecuador (FDLP-EC) on August 8th.
In the most groveling, submissive, and sycophantic manner, Daniel Noboa welcomed two representatives of international reaction and crime to Quito. On the 5th August, 2026, he opened the doors of the Carondelet hovel to Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar; The following day he received Argentine President Javier Milei with military honors.
Sa’ar arrived accompanied by Israeli diplomatic officials and met with Noboa, the Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Roberto Carlos Kury Pesantes and other regime authorities. It was the first visit by a minister of Israel’s foreign relations with Ecuador in 44 years. During the meeting, both governments agreed to move toward a free trade agreement, and signed cooperation instruments on “fighting terrorism” and announced greater economic, technological, and intelligence collaboration. They also resolved to expand the work of MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation. Sa’ar also attended the National Assembly, where he was received by the on-duty officials.
The next day, the deranged Javier Milei arrived accompanied by the Secretary General of the Argentine Presidency, Karina Milei, and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno. Noboa and Milei signed six instruments: a trade protocol, an agreement on air services, another on the so-called peaceful uses of nuclear energy, a cyberdefense agreement, an extradition treaty, and a declaration on Illegal fishing. Under the diplomatic rhetoric of “cooperation,” they advanced information exchange, military coordination, and political collaboration between two governments aligned with Yankee imperialism.
What do the two delegations that “visited” the regime have in common? Military intelligence, technology for war and the so-called “fight against Terrorism.” That is the true focus of both visits; everything else is just diplomatic fluff, which, by now, has already been swept away by the strong summer winds.
Two days before these visits, on August 3rd, Noboa announced the so-called Quito Protection Plan. He ordered the additional deployment of 2,000 police officers and 2,000 military personnel, supported by 100 mechanized vehicles and 20 drones. The government justified the measure with the increase in criminal violence and the 136 violent deaths recorded in the Metropolitan District during 2026. But Noboa couldn’t care less about the insecurity and violence that keep the masses terrorized and overwhelmed. The regime sought to fortify the city, protect its visitors, and allow them to carry out—without hindrance—the machinery of its interventionism, surveillance, and organized terror carried out from within the state itself. It was to be expected: both Israel and the Milei regime have more than earned it, the repudiation of the oppressed peoples of the world. Noboa turned Quito in a barracks to receive these two butchers and guarantee them “the tranquility” that, through force of arms and puppet governments, they will never achieve.
Israel intends to solidify Ecuador as a key part of its regional strategy, subordinated to the interests of Yankee imperialism. Its presence already encompasses security, intelligence, energy, agriculture, technology, trade and State training. The signing of “counterterrorism” agreements opens a dangerous terrain for those of us who firmly maintain the anti-imperialist struggle in the country and solidarity with the oppressed peoples of the world.
Israel “collaborates” with the old State by supplying weapons, surveillance systems and repressive methods. But it contributes something even more dangerous: its military doctrine. Can the destruction of homes in the poor neighborhoods of Daule, Durán, and Guayaquil using explosives really be considered an isolated incident, completely unrelated to the methods employed by Israel in the Gaza Strip? Isn’t bombing within national territory and massacring peasants and artisanal miners a criminal practice that Israel carries out all over the world?
This doctrine is already being used to persecute peasants, workers, students and popular organizations. It doesn’t seek to protect the people, but to strengthen the repressive capacity of the old big landlord -bureaucratic State to monitor, intimidate, and strike at the masses.
This alliance is made even more despicable by the role of the State of Israel in Palestine and in the war spreading across Western Asia where they have murdered more than 70,000 Palestinians, including at least 25,000 children.
In response to this carnage, on November 21st, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and the Former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for their responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Noboa is aware of these facts, just as the entire world is. Despite this, as if nothing were amiss, he receives the Israeli chancellor, signs agreements with its government and presents the country’s political submission to Yankee imperialism and criminal Zionism as a diplomatic victory.
The Israeli war machine has not stopped in Gaza either. Its attacks have spread to Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. Zionism, in incestuous collusion with Yankee imperialism, has murdered thousands of people with the complicity of regimes like those of Noboa and Milei.
Israel acts like a criminal State, a bloodthirsty hyena that drops bombs on homes, hospitals, and schools. It murders innocent children, who are not—and cannot be considered—a threat; except under Israel’s fascist logic, they must be exterminated today because tomorrow they could be part of the Resistance. Noboa serves this machinery when he strengthens military and intelligence cooperation, while remaining silent in the face of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Iranian bloodshed.
Milei plays a similar role. He has become mouthpiece for Zionism and Yankee imperialism in Latin America. His visit to Ecuador aims to to bring together far-right governments, strike a blow against popular organizations, and turn the rhetoric of the “fight against terrorism” and security into a pretext for keeping our peoples subjugated through repression, coercion, blackmail, and State violence. His affinity with Noboa is evident: both govern for the big bourgeoisies and big landlords of the region; they despise the masses while they present themselves as the “saviors” against terrorism; and something that remains serious and complex is that a litter of wannabe hyenas and imitators is growing in the country, seeking to repeat their narrative and its subservience to imperialism.
Israel’s plans and Milei’s maneuvers would have less room in our country if Noboa weren’t in charge of the government: a fool with initiative, direct representative of the economic power that exploits workers and peasants. His clumsiness doesn’t make him any less dangerous. He has the State resources, the support of the Armed Forces, and the willingness of surrendering national sovereignty in exchange for political support, repressive technology and international recognition.
We must never, ever forget what Noboa has done against our people. Nor must we forget his complicity with those, who seek to drown in blood the cry of the poor masses of Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. It is clear which side the government is on. And it is, without hesitation, on the side of imperialism, of Zionism and reaction.
