Yankee imperialism has renewed its criminal aggression against Iran by attacking two Iranian oil tankers, the M/T Sea Star III and the M/T Sevda, in the Sea of Oman, A Nova Democracia (AND) reports. The Yankee military claimed that these vessels violated the illegal naval blockade that Yankee imperialism has imposed on the Strait of Hormuz in an attempt to bend Iran.
Yankee imperialism had already threatened Iranian oil tankers on May 7, when three destroyers pursued an oil tanker but were repelled by Iranian missiles defending their territorial waters. As Central Command (CENTCOM) itself admitted, “none of the three vessels are en route to Iran,” acknowledging that they had to flee following the Iranian response. Tasnim news agency reported that the three ships were attacked with missiles and drones.
Iranian officials report US airstrikes against civilian coastal areas in Bandar Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island. Iran states that it has inflicted heavy losses on US troops through the use of ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and explosive drones.
Iran recently fired eight cruise missiles and 24 drones, claiming that one cruise missile and three drones struck US destroyers, causing fires on board. The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations has denounced the US attacks as “acts of aggression,” in addition to the illegal maritime blockade by the US ships, the detention and seizure of Iranian vessels, and the detention of their crews.
