Austria: Anti-NATO and Anti-Imperialist War Rally in Innsbruck
On Tuesday June 30, an anti-imperialist mobilization was carried out in Innsbruck, by the Alliance Against NATO and Imperialist War (PAN-IW). Ahead of the NATO summit to be held between July 7 and 8, similar rallies are taking place across Europe, denouncing the war against the oppressed peoples of the world.
In the report, PAN-IW Innsbruck denounces NATO as a tool used by imperialists in an attempt to impose their dominance. “Especially in today’s conditions, the massacres inflicted upon the peoples as a result of attacks and unjust wars, the destruction of settlements, and the plunder of underground and above-ground resources reveal the whole truth. This cruelty and layered exploitation inflicted upon the peoples of the world inevitably fuels and will continue to fuel their anger.”, they add.
Widespread repression has been unleashed against the anti-imperialists who are raising their voice against this summit, with hundreds of detainees, especially in Turkey.
However, PAN-IW warns that all imperialists are doomed to fail: “But this haste, this fear, and these death-spreading war apparatuses are in vain. Your palaces and complexes will be shattered into pieces in the face of the people’s wrath. Human history bears witness to this.”
