On Thursday, 30th of July Yankee imperialism attacked the Qeshm Island, including two residential homes murdering a family, including a small child, and wounding two other children as part of a large-scale attack across Iran.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a retaliatory attack on the same day destroying three US F-35 fighter jets and causing other damage with a missile attack on Azraq Air Base in Jordan. The IRGC stated that this base was used to launch bunker-buster bombs responsible for the murders.
In addition, on Friday, the Iranian Army announced further attacks, saying its drones struck fighter jet hangars, satellite communications systems, and military equipment warehouses at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait as retaliation for the “latest attacks by the terrorist US military”. The Iranian Army stated that the air base is central to US aerial and surveillance operations in the region, functioning as a key hub for US military air support. The joint strikes of the Iranian Army and the IRGC have been also made intercepting Iranian drones and missiles increasingly difficult and costly for US forces, even as Washington reinforces the region with some of its most advanced air defense systems.
The Iranian Army also announced on Thursday that it carried out drone attacks on US bases in Bahrain and Kuwait. In Bahrain, they said Sheikh Isa Air Base was hit, damaging power generators, navigation systems, and administrative facilities. In Kuwait, the IRGC claimed an attack on Ali Al Salem Air Base destroyed drone hangars and a fuel storage site for military aircraft and helicopters.
Today Iran also announced the elimination of two Mossad agents accused of sending sensitive military and security location coordinates, images and information to Mossad. Iran also intercepted a unidentified drone over the Strait of Hormuz.
Currently, Iran is holding negotiations with Oman regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz and is asserting the rights set out in the US-signed Memorandum of Understanding. In parallel, Yankee imperialism is trying to force a new deal, threatening increased aggression. After halting the nightly attacks at the start of August, Trump issued threats that the US was planning an attack against Iran—one of which had not been seen since World War II—and claimed that talks with Iran are starting today, which Iran has denied.
Trump is reportedly showing his growing frustration with the difficulties Yankee imperialism has faced due to Iran’s Resistance to the aggression. Even bourgeois media and analysts are increasingly pointing out that Yankee imperialism has failed to achieve its principal objectives despite months of war, analyzing the results of the war as a “strategic defeat” for Yankee imperialism, as New York Times does. Well-known imperialist think tanks, such as the Chatham House defined the outcome of the war as “a strategic loss and an embarrassment”.
