Norway: Solidarity with the struggle against the Interoceanic Corridor in Mexico

New solidarity actions in support of the struggle against the Interoceanic Corridor (CIIT) have been made in Norway. Earlier we have published the call of the Current of the People – Red Sun of Mexico for the day of action on the 20th and 21st of March.

On the 28th of March, activists held a rally in Bergen, Norway in solidarity with the poor peasants and indigenous people who are struggling against the mega-project CIIT in Mexico. The activists carried a banner with the slogan ”The Interoceanic Corridor plunders and murders poor peasants and indigenous people in Mexico!”. A speech, which explained the struggle of the people and condemned US-imperialism and the CIIT, was held.

In Oslo, activists held an open meeting informing of the struggle of the Mexican people against the CIIT. In the meeting a presentation was held on the justified struggle of the poor peasants for land and imperialist exploitation in all of Latin-America. Many activists participated, Kampkomiteen reports, and the atmosphere was good and the participants had interesting discussions, also on the role of Norwegian imperialism.

During the past weeks, many actions have been made in Mexico, as well as internationally, against the CIIT. You can find our earlier reports on the campaign under our CIIT tag.
