Mobilization for the 1st of May

We publish an overview of some mobilization in Europe for this year’s 1st of May.

In Turkey, Partizan has published a call mobilizing for the 1st of May at Taksim Square in Istanbul.

The Confederation of Revolutionary Trade Unions, DİSK, the Confederation of Public Employees’ Unions, KESK, the Union of Turkish Engineers and Architects TMMOB, the Turkish Medical Association, TTB, and the Turkish Dental Association, TDB, made a public joint statement at İskele Square in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, about the May Day celebrations to be held at Taksim Square.

In Germany, the Red League has made a call for the 1st of May. On the 26th of April the Red League will hold an 1st of May event in Bremen where current developments in the national and international class struggle will be presented. On the 1st of May the Red League will organize a demonstration in Bremerhaven, followed by a street festival. They will also join the union 1st of may demonstration in Hamburg and Bremen.

In Finland, several actions mobilizing for the 1st of May have been carried out. In Tampere there are reports of graffiti, stickers and posters for the 1st of May.

In Helsinki graffiti has been made for the 1st of May.

In Denmark, actions mobilizing for the 1st of May have been carried out in several proletarian neighborhoods in Copenhagen.
