Bangladesh: PDSU condemns the Killing of Comrade Ka Maria

We hereby share a resume of a statement that we have received. We have previously shared the statement published by the PRWC on her, as well as the statement issued by Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS).

The People’s Democratic Students Unity (PDSU) has condemned the killing of Ka Maria Malaya, member of the Central Committee and Political Bureau of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), who was recently martyred. PDSU honors her by stating: “We, People’s Democratic Students Unity (PDSU), strongly condemn this killing and honor the revolutionary life of Comrade Ka Maria. Those who lay down their lives for the people do not die in vain—their deaths weigh heavier than mountains. Comrade Ka Maria’s sacrifice is no exception.

PDSU makes an overview of the commitment with the Filipino Revolution by Ka Maria Malaya, since she joined the CPP in 1977, until her martyrdom, spending “nearly five decades to organizing and advancing revolutionary struggles across the cities and countryside of Mindanao.” Her involvement with the study of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism as well as her main role in the Second Rectification Movement in 1992 and her sacrifice, above all hardships, even a diagnosed cancer, are also highlighted in the statement.

PDSU declares that “As students engaged in the struggle for a People’s Democratic Revolution toward socialism and communism, we recognize that our country’s revolutionary movement is an integral part of the world proletarian revolution.” Therefore they state that “Supporting and standing in solidarity with these struggles is our revolutionary internationalist duty.

PDSU makes clear its “unwavering support to the Communist Party of the Philippines and the revolutionary Filipino masses.”, and committing itself “to standing alongside them as comrades in the world proletarian revolution.” The statements ends with the following slogans:

Long live Comrade Ka Maria!

Long live the people’s war and democratic struggle of the Philippines!

Long live the People’s Democratic Revolution of Bangladesh!

Long live the revolutionary struggles of the working class and oppressed nations across the world!
