Protest against the murder of two youths in Londrina, Brazil
On March 10, the population of Londrina took to the streets again against the cruel murder of the 20-year-old Wender, and the 16-year-old Kelvin, brutally murdered by the Military Police (MP).
The demonstration lasted hours and brought together more than 150 people, including students, supporters of the cause and residents of the neighborhood of the young men murdered. The mothers of the youths also attended denouncing the violence against their sons, as reported by A Nova Democracia.
Barricades were made with tires, thus blocking the BR-369 highway. Banner were hanged up which read “Not a minute of silence for our dead, but a lifetime of struggle” and banners that read “worker killer” next to the faces of the four killer cops.

It did not take long for the MP and the ROTAM (Rondas Ostensivas Táticas Metropolitanas – Metropolitan Tactical Patrols) to repress the protests. They even attacked one of the mothers. There were 10 cars from the MP and ROTAM, a helicopter and at least one car from the Federal Highway Police, in addition to 20 MP armed from head to toe. However, the combative neighbors resisted the attack and forced the police to remain in their position while they continued the march.
The mothers and relatives of the youths say that this is just the beginning, and that they will not retreat an inch, they will continue to struggle for justice for Wender and Kelvin, and for all the young people and workers, sons and daughters of the people, killed and massacred every day by the police in the favelas and peripheries of the city. They also thanked the work of A Nova Democracia for its coverage of the news.
These are not the first protests, we have previously reported on previous actions and reports by the newspaper A Nova Democracia on the issue:
