The combative protests in Bolivia that started more than a month ago continue overwhelming the government of Rodrigo Paz. Despite the continuous attempts to crush the demonstrations and unblock the roads, deploying thousands of police officers and changing the law to facilitate the deployment of the Armed troops, the protests continue in the countryside and the city.
In the countryside there is still at least 90 road blockades, which affect mainly the capital. In El Alto, thousands of masses ratified the road blockades and demand the resignation of the President in less than 48 hours.
Several ministers have already renounced before the political failure, but, in another attempt to mitigate the situation, the President Paz has declared a 90-day state of health emergency in an attempt to criminalize the just struggles of the people, alleging that the shortages are affecting hospitals. However, in the streets, hundreds of thousands of people continue to demonstrate and demand the resignation of the government.
Before the political failure of Paz, the sole hegemonic superpower, Yankee imperialism, has decided to start getting involved. The State secretary, Marco Rubio, has confirmed that food and medicines are being prepared to be sent to Bolivia. Additionally, through the “Shield of the Americas”, the superpower has issued a statement condemning the “efforts” to overthrow the current government and uses again the strategy to link the people’s struggles with narco-terrorism, preparing the ground for any possible scenario.
The popular masses of Bolivia are showing an example of combativeness and to stay firm before the puppet government of Paz and Yankee imperialism. After 36 days protesting, there is no sign of the protests stopping, despite harsh repression. The Bolivian masses rebel against oppression and exploitation carried out by imperialism, and while it, and consequently bureaucratic capitalism, persists, the struggle will continue.
