United States: Revolutionary Youth Demonstrate in Support of Iranian National Resistance, Against FIFA in Seattle

During the Iran-Egypt FIFA match on June 26th, 2026, Seattle Revolutionary Youth (SRY) participated in an action put on by the Hands Off Iran Coalition in Seattle, Washington. Member organizations blocked off a street just outside the Seattle Stadium where the event was being held and had a “People’s football match” in which the Palestinian and Islamic Republic of Iran Flags were raised and members of the masses joined in to participate in an anti-imperialist football match. The flags of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, alongside the Anti-Imperialist League flag were confidently held at the demonstration. 

SRY also held a banner with the slogan “BOYCOTT THE 2026 WORLD CUP, DON’T LET THE BALL ROLL!” This slogan is in support of the People’s Red Sun Front organization, National Coordination of Education Workers (CNTE), the Federation of Socialist Peasant Students of Mexico (FECSM), and mothers and families searching for their disappeared loved ones who are rallying together to vehemently oppose the reactionary state’s complete disregard of the peoples needs during a time when billions are spent on the World Cup. In Seattle we denounce FIFA as an accomplice to imperialism and stand in solidarity with our comrades fighting for the democratic rights of teachers and all others drawn into this just struggle!
