A Traitor and Military Assets Punished by the NPA in the Philippines

The New People’s Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines is delivering revolutionary justice to the people by punishing those who commit crimes against the masses. The NPA – Northern Samar of the Philippines has reported on actions done in April against counter-revolutionary elements in the town of Las Navas. Two of these were military assets, who were responsible for murders of peasants committed by the AFP. The third of those punished was a part of a large landowner family that is robbing the land in the area, a former paramilitary and an accomplice to the soldiers camped in the town. The three were sentenced to death by the People’s Court after disregarding multiple warnings.
Similarly the NPA – Leyte Island has reported on actions in April. An intelligence asset and a CAFGU member were killed in a military action in Sitio Valibulan, Barangay Katipunan, Silago, Southern Leyte on the 2nd of April. The CAFGU member was responsible for smuggling a GPS device into an alleged NPA camp, which resulted to a house of a peasant and 50 coconut trees being destroyed in a bombing.
A traitor to the NPA was punished in Sityo Quarry, Barangay Poblacion, Toboso, Negros Occidental by the NPA-Northern Negros (Roselyn Jean Pelle Command) on October 20th. They executed the former NPA member, who worked as a guide to the AFP and participated in raids. In addition, the masses of the area had accused him of sexual harassment and rape. The guerrillas recovered his CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) IDs, mission order and other personal equipment.
An M16, a shotgun, two pistols, a hand grenade, and a VHF radio were confiscated from a large landowner and agent of the 57th Infantry Battalion by the NPA-Sultan Kudarat on the 13th of November. These weapons were used to rob lands from the poor peasants. In addition, the NPA launched an operation against the 37th IB on November 10th in Sityo Pangyen, Barangay Hinalaan, Kalamansig. The residents greeted the operation, as the AFP troops are harassing them frequently and causing trouble with gambling and drinking.
The NPA-Sultan Kudarat has also issued a statement in which they denounce how the 37th Infantry Battalion breaks the international laws of war. On the October 8th the 37th IB captured Rafael Zambrano (Ka Dodong/Tres) in Sityo Bugkog, Barangay Limulan, tortured him and in the end shot him. To hide that they had killed a prisoner of war, the AFP soldiers faked an encounter in an area where the NPA was not operating at the time.
