Denmark – Copenhagen: Take to the streets on October 7th!

We hereby share an unofficial translation of a call issued by Roede Fane.

Anti-imperialist Action has, together with Aktiv for Palæstine Brønshøj/Husum/Tingbjerg, announced a demonstration in the proletarian neighborhood of Tingbjerg on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Palestinian counter-offensive on October 7. The comrades write:

October 7th of this year marks the second anniversary of the Palestinian resistance groups’ counter-offensive and the intensification of Israel’s brutal genocide.

On this day we will organize a demonstration at 5:30 PM,
– We start in Tingbjerg (Route 3, 2700 Brønshøj)
– Together we walk through the neighborhood
– We will end at Brønshøj Torv, where there will be speeches, songs and poems.

We believe it is important that a Palestine demonstration takes place on the day itself. Zionists and their allies are trying to make the day their “9/11” – a pretext to justify continued genocide against the Palestinians.

At the same time, the Danish State misuses the day to justify oppression, censorship, and reactionary legislation – such as the infamous “anti-Semitism law.” It affects not only Palestine solidarity, but everyone in Denmark who fights for freedom of expression, assembly, and organization.

On October 7th, we take back the day. We emphasize that the resistance and Israel’s crimes did not start on October 7th, 2023 – but that Palestine has been occupied since May 14th, 1948. Since then, Israel has murdered and displaced millions of Palestinians in its long-running genocide.

Program:
– Speakers, including Sara Bovin
(more names will be announced on an ongoing basis)
– Songs
– Poems

Bring your flag, your voice, your courage.
Together we make it clear: Palestine lives, the resistance lives – and we refuse to let history be rewritten.

Thanks in advance and best regards
